The 30-year-old .am domain recorded a healthy annual registration growth rate of 5.3% at the regional level during its jubilee year. The aim is to achieve similar performance to the European region and to expand its presence in the international domain market. Igor Mkrtumyan, Board Chair of the Internet Society NGO, discussed these advancements in “Regiton2024“.
He noted, “Armenia has been among the pioneers in adopting cutting-edge technologies for advancing the national domain and Internet infrastructure. This achievement reflects the collaboration of the public and private sectors’ professional communities with our organization, as well as active partnerships with international professional entities.”
According to Mkrtumyan, to achieve a more significant performance indicator, it is necessary to study the operational methods of icann’s top 10 registrars and adopt successful practices observed in the Baltic countries.
